北極的寒水區是兩條有齒類鯨魚的家，牠們是narwhal, Monodon monoceros和beluga, or white whale, Delphinaplerus leucas．Narwhal或稱獨角鯨(sea-unicorn)，可能就擁有整個動物世界中最獨特的牙齒．
